Porsche 911 Carrera Comes with the Complete Makeover

Porsche 911 Carrera has come out with the striking features with a redesigned rear lid with vertical louvres and new rear lights, and is minus the recessed door handle covers.

The model was revealed Sunday night and to be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week.

Engines for the base model and S both will have 20 more horsepower, pumping out 370 and 420 respectively with up to 12 per cent greater fuel efficiency.

The 911 Carrera S Coupe with Porsche-Doppelkupplung (PDK) and Sport Chrono Package takes 3.9 seconds to go from zero to 100 km/h. That’s two-tenths of a second improvement over the predecessor, making this Carrera the first to break the four-second mark. The S hits a top speed of 308 km/h, a four km/h improvement.

The Porsche Active Suspension Management, which lowers the ride height by a centimetre, is standard on all Carrera models for the first time.

On the inside, the 911 offers a new multi-touch display. Google Streetview and Google Earth are being integrated for the first time.

The new 911 is expected to arrive in Canada next spring with a starting price of $102,200. The 911 Carrerra S Cabriolet will cost $132,200.
