MAN is a metropolitan area networking which two or more computers or communicating devices or networks which are geographically separated but in same metropolitan city and is connected to each other. MAN is a larger geographical area than a LAN. Scope of MAN falls between a WAN and LAN. Some technologies used ATM, FDDI, and SMDI. MAN links between network without cables using microwave, radio, or infra-red laser links.
For transferring Data within networking us need media which are known as guided (physical cabling) and unguided media (air media). We can call as wired technology and wireless technology. In wired technology we use cables, twisted cable, Fiber optical cable which is flows electric signals. In wireless media we use Air and radio,Infra-red signals for transmission of data.
